Reporting to the Director, this individual will support the US Retail Appetizer business in delivering on key business objectives. Specifically, the Brand Manager will be a core contributor in development of a branded retail growth strategy/execution and be the marketing lead on the existing Private Label business. This individual will be a key driver in building and shaping the future vision of the US retail apps business as well as current core business management.  They will be passionate about being the voice of the consumer, basing decision in consumer insights and business data. They will be passionate about strategy and ensuring that McCain is doing what is right for the customer, company and consumer.   They will also be skilled at project, cross-functional and agency team management/motivation, working towards creative solutions across the business (communications, product launches, base business mgmt, etc).


They will act as a strategic partner with sales, innovation, customer marketing and our agency partners to execute new consumer advertising, product launches, packaging design, private label bids and more.  Furthermore, this individual will work closely with the Director to help shape the future strategic vision for the US retail appetizer business through detailed business reviews and financial feasibility exercises.

This role is responsible for:

  • Identifying insights through data (IRI, financial, consumer, customer) and making recommendations that support the delivery of the brands short and long term plan objectives.
  • Being the voice of the consumer, driving the cross functional team (internal and agency) to creative solutions and being an effective advocate of bringing great ideas to life.
  • Managing multiple projects (new launches, research, cost savings, consumer promotions, packaging design, etc.) to deliver upon agreed metrics.
  • Assisting in delivering the marketing mix with ownership of specific executions in partnership with our agency teams.
  • Supporting sales in executing private label bids, customer presentations and account specific marketing programs to drive results at their banners.
  • Building a sound knowledge of the US retail food market and taking initiative on being informed of the latest developments
  • Work with Demand Planning to prepare monthly SKU forecasts and participate in consensus activities.
  • Manage the marketing budget to ensure ROI is met and/or exceeded, while pivoting tactics when necessary
  • Prepare business analysis and reporting, utilizing internal and external data (e.g. IRI)
  • Being a positive, key contributor to building a culture of engagement through business ownership.
  • Management, mentorship and growth of one direct report (ABM).

  • High level of enthusiasm, accountability and ability to achieve results, even under tough circumstances.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, ability to simplify complex inputs (internal and external) and sell in a strategy, project or business objective with management/sales.
  • A passion for the consumer, insights and pushing great ideas with both internal and external partners.
  • Undergraduate Degree. Major in marketing preferred and an MBA is a strong plus.
  • CPG food marketing and project management experience (4-5 years). A solid understanding of the US CPG retail environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, project and hold self and cross-functional team members to timelines and deliverables.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to function effectively as a leader and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills (gathers critical data, translates analysis of an opportunity to a recommendation that drives results), experienced in IRI and budget management.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Has the courage to step up and address difficult issues.
  • Ability to mentor, manage and grow a direct report.
