Overall Purpose

Lead, engage and develop the global foodservice strategy through coaching, generous listening  and influencing country presidents and VP’s, to ensure the financial commitments and actions for growth are executed in the  countries.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Category Management:

  • Ensure distribution and channel mix are aligned with sales force capabilities and category strategies
  • Utilize customer insights, customer marketing, and CRM data
  • Finance and Business Planning:
  • Profitably maintain existing McCain business; managing contract and customer relationships while exploring ways to sell more and/or improve profitability (value add/mix improvement/etc.)
  • Identify, prioritize and pursue profitable new business opportunities
  • Participate as a key leader in the NA planning process, providing annual customer growth plans to grow sales, market share and other key financial objectives (specific to Canada)
  • Use data-driven strategies to effectively manage trade investment and negotiate for profitable growth to enhance ROI at Canadian foodservice distributors and end-users
  • Achieve profitable and sustainable sales growth targets and results with customer-centric focus
  • Maximize forecast accuracy to deliver both customer and organization requirements

Field Sales Execution:

  • Develop and execute data-driven plans that deliver profitable growth across new and existing business
  • Ensure annual category/product long-range plans are merged with the customer strategic plans
  • Serve as primary point of contact with buyers at customer/operator organizations
  • Provide Best in class service to our distribution

Cross-functional partnerships and stakeholder collaboration:

  • Set sales strategy and sales objectives with VPs, Marketing and VP, Sales Strategy and Category Development
  • Establish annual plan that details channel and customer growth plan with VPs, Marketing and VP Sales Strategy andCategory Development
  • Set distribution strategy with VP, Sales Strategy and Category Development and VP, ISC
  • Provide inputs to VP, ISC, VP, Sales Strategy and Category Development and Finance to enable accurate forecast, strategic prioritization of supply and effective R&O management
  • Role model cross-functional collaboration and high-performance behaviors with other commercial VP/Directors

Experience:

  • Leadership and capability to drive sales division
  • Deep understanding of competitive advantages and competitor’s landscape
  • Deep understanding of the customer and consumer
  • Expertise and seniority to participate in GNA strategy definition and communicate directly with the head of the categories
  • Ability to inspire and motivate salesforce to be extremely passionate about the products

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the NA foodservice market.
  • Strong understanding of the potato and appetizer market dynamics

Skills:

  • Communication – articulate and fluent, verbal and written skills
  • Leadership presence within team, function and across wider business
  • Ability to influence at all levels
  • Tenacity to see things through to fruition
  • Top quartile selling skills capability
  • Understanding of how to build and manage people capability
